BC Website

I went onto the official Boston College Website and I took the virtual tour. Looking at the pictures of BC, I realized that most of the photos were rather accurate. Boston College has a beautiful campus, and the tour really captures it. For example, the picture of Gasson Hall through the trees represents how gorgeous the school can look at certain times of the day. Although the pictures do a good job of representing BC, I think that it leaves out the most important part – the students. Most of the pictures are just of the buildings – some of which seem to be airbrushed – and there are no students in sight. Only on such pictures like that of O’Neill Plaza you can see kids milling around, but that’s because there are few times where there are students not there. If I could change any part of this tour I would add more pictures of students and the school spirit prevalent throughout the campus which makes it even more special.

The website does a decent job of trying to sell BC to prospective students, but again it lacks the students and the spirit of BC which is the most attractive feature of BC. It seems to mostly focus on the architecture and the beauty of BC, which although is a great plus, is not the only reason a student wants to attend it.
